Everything about theatre is heavy.

I apologize for my recent lapse in posts, but I have been super busy with a new project lately.  For the last 6 years the theatre company that has been my primary employer for the last 12 years has been in the process of building a new multi-million dollar performing arts complex.  After obtaining all of the necessary funding, they broke ground about a year ago, and as of today, they have officially moved into residence.
I have been pulling extra shifts lately trying to get everything set up for the big move.  I have literally been building office furniture for days!  And all of it is very heavy.
This complex is really quite remarkable.  It houses the new administration offices for the theatre company (which also operates 6 other venues across Ontario), A state of the art 500 seat mainstage theatre with full fly gallery, wardrobe, props, carpentry, and paint shops, multiple full size rehearsal halls, and 32 dorm rooms that will act as artist accommodations.  It is a huge facility.  It is also the first time that this organization has had all of these amenities together under one roof.  Its pretty incredible.
Tech has been in the building for a few weeks now, but today was the first official day for the administrative staff.
Won't be long an our first set of rehearsals in this new venue will be under way.
Very exciting times, and I am very happy to have been a part of it.
I thought the picture below was a fun take on what I've been doing for the last 4 days.
